Round 2: Bruins/Flyers and Celtics/Heat

Last night the Bruins knocked off the Canadiens, winning Game 7 in OT on a Nathan Horton goal, and will now square off against the Flyers in the conference semi-finals with a chance to avenge last year's playoff meltdown. Meanwhile the Celtics also found out their 2nd round opponent last night when the Heat knocked off the 76ers in Game 5, advancing to face Boston. While the Celts and Heat may not have as much history, it certainly hasn't taken long for these teams to get on each other's bad side. Miami, after adding Lebron James and Chris Bosh to go along with Dwayne Wade, were widely considered the championship favorites when the season began, but they lost 3 of 4 against Boston this season, and LBJ has been eliminated by Boston's Big 3 both times he has met them in the playoffs. So which Boston team has a better chance to advance? Which series are you more excited about? Which opponent do you hate more? Luckily for RBSF, it appears there is still plenty of postseason fun ahead!

These are currently my 2nd least favorite teams in their respective sports. I feel like I hate the Flyers franchise more, but this particular Heat team is the worst. I do think by the time the series is over I'll probably feel the same way about Philly too.

Lebron has always been pretty easy to root against, but my moment when I started being able not to stand him was when he said he was switching his number because nobody deserved to wear Michael Jordan's #23. Then he takes #6, the jersey number worn by the great Bill Russell, 11-time NBA Champion. Goes to prove that what James values most is not rings...which is lucky for him since he has none.

Shaq once called Chris Bosh the "RuPaul of big men". Hoping Shaq plays just to see those two collide. I'm guessing Bosh comes up on the short end of the stick in that one.

Bruins begin Saturday at 3 in Philly

Celtics begin Sunday at 8 in Miami

Fortunately there are no overlapping games at any point in the series.

On TV somewhere I saw a stat about the shooting of Miami in the final seconds of winnable games, and it was awful, especially LeBron. That bodes well for us given that the games could be close and with all our clutch players (loved the game-winner by Garnet the other night).

To me, Chris Bosh looks a lot like Snoop Dog...

Spellcheck: I mean Snoop Dogg.

Sorry to fill up with inane comments, but DK, I wanted to offer a correction: the C's-Miami game on Sunday is at 3:30, not 8.

"Sorry to fill up with inane comments"

I feel like that was directed at me

Not at all, Walpole Joe--purely self-deprecation. Besides, if you look, you'll see that I wrote that *before* you posted all those inane comments on the NFL draft ; )
