Let's get Game 1 in the books and take it from there. After that Canadiens series it would be nice to get an easy win, but I'll take them any way I can get them....even if it means me losing what little hair I have left.

Krejci scores 1:52 into the game. Great start!!! Perhaps this will be the stress free game I've been waiting for.

I'm very impressed with the Bruins today. I thought for sure they were in for a let down after a very tough and tightly contested series against Montreal. Maybe they learned something from last year.

10 quick thoughts from game:

1. Krejci line had more good shifts in first period than entire MTL series.

2. Flyers goalies aren't great, but they also don't get a lot of help out there. Can't blame all those on goalies.

3. Pronger is still an a-hole and it was great to see him -3 on the day.

4. Phily fans will hate Marchand (team best +8 in playoffs) by game 3....if they don't already.

5. Power Play still stinks and so does Kaberle (although +2 in game 1). Being the "best" player on a terrible team does not make you a great player...or even good.

6. The refs were terrible in the first period and I was so happy to see Milbury call them out between periods. Pronger's slash on Paile and having mathing penalties was out of control. If that was McQuaid slashing Briere he would have been out of the game with no matching penalty. And the Flyers penalty for goalie interference was just as silly. By the way Briere has the most playoff points in NHL since the lockout ended, pretty impressive.

7. Thornton (team worst -2 in playoffs, 0 shots yestday) continues to be useless and I picture DK screaming at the TV every time he hits the ice.

8. Let's hope Carter doesn't come back too soon. He scares me when he is healthy.

9. Every time I see James van Riemsdyk (2nd pick in 2007)I think, "Is this all Seguin will be in 4 years?"

10. Boychcuk and Ferrence didn't play great yesterday compared to rest of team, hopefully that will improve in game 2.

The Six Stages of RBSF Withdrawal and Grief:
1. Unconcern (aka Denial): "No problem. DK will post soon. After all, the Bs and Cs are in the playoffs. I'll just check casually every day to see."

2. Bargaining. "I mean, I don't expect him to post extensive, detailed columns, but maybe he could just post little discussion areas for each major game. Is that too much to ask?"

3. Irritation/Anger."He hasn't posted about the playoff games YET? Doesn't he know the Bruins swept their series, avenging last year's defeat, and that Rajon Rondo single-armedly defeated the Heat? What more does he want in terms of great Boston sports action? Why does he disappear right in the thick of the playoff action?"

4. Guilt."How can I be annoyed at DK? After all, he has a life, a baby (and one on the way, he says), and perhaps even a job he actually gets paid for. It's not his job to provide you with intelligent and knowledgeable sports information and a forum for discussion that isn't full of ninnies like sports radio and the other sites. Wow, what an entitled jerk I am for being mad at him."

5. Concern. "Actually, I hope he's ok. I mean, what if something serious is going on with him?"

6.Acceptance/Resignation. "Well, I guess that's it for a while. I'll just check in now and then but not expect anything."

What stage are you in?

Great post EmDee.

I think there may be some news about the newest member of the RBSF family coming soon.

Ah-ha! I didn't realize that was so imminent. It's the best of all possible excuses (and great news besides).

Sniff. That was terrible: the Cs just gave away another game in the last few minutes, unable to score after controlling most of the game.

I'll check you guys out when the Cs play again. Who knows when that will be, given the lockout, etc. As I say, sniff.
