Ladder Challenge: Armstrong vs Buoniconti

In the last edition of the Ladder Challenge it was Drew Bledsoe defeating Josh Beckett with 58% of the vote to retain his spot at #81 on the Ladder. This week’s Challenge features a battle of Patriots greats, with 50th Anniversary Team inside linebacker Nick Buoniconti (#87) taking on 50th Anniversary Team offensive tackle Bruce Armstrong (#77). Although Buoniconti does have several factors working to his advantage (he is a Massachusetts native and the lone member of the Boston Patriots in the Pro Football Hall of Fame) it is still not quite enough to overcome Armstrong, a 6-time Pro Bowl selection who played all 212 games of his NFL career as a New England Patriot. Buoniconti, after all, is best known by many as a member of the Miami Dolphins, a franchise for whom he played 8 of his 15 pro seasons. My vote this week is for Bruce Armstrong, but who has your vote in this week’s Ladder Challenge? (And remember, most votes in the comments section is the tie-breaker, so be sure to voice your opinion!)

I'm always a sucker for a one-team guy, but I'd love to have seen how high Buoniconti (a Mass native, a Patriot and a Hall of Famer) would have gotten on the Ladder if he had played his entire career here. My guess is top 20 easy.

if i liked a player that i saw and i never saw the other guy play its impossible for me to vote against the guy i actually watched (with the exception of the ultra elite guys). so i go with big bruce
