Has anyone figured out why LeBron was so uninterested in Game 5 yet?.....The Red Sox give Tim Wakefield the ball this afternoon in a weekday matinee with the Blue Jays, who they are trying to sweep.....Tom Brady cites a "lack of trust, lack of confidence" as factors that prevented the 2009 Pats from achieving more......

Wakefield pitched well today but it wasn't enough in a 3-2 loss. The Sox were shutout until the 9th and it was too little too late.
That will be quickly forgotten if the B's can come through tonight though!
Since the B's couldn't win it on the 40th Anniversary of the Bobby Orr flying goal Monday, perhaps they can win it as a 75th birthday present for Johnny Bucyk tonight!
Vladimir Sabotka has got to pick it up here. He is muns effin 10 in the playoffs with 2 points and 15 mins in penalties. WTF?
I don't know if there is anybody better, but there can't be anybody worse can there? -10 when your team has won more games than it has lost is not good.
It seems like we have 2 lines playing pretty well and then hold your breath.
I heard Felger say the other day that Rask would be the biggest injury loss followed by Chara and Krejci.
I have to disagree 100%.
With Rask there is a backup capable of playing as well.
With Chara and Krejci there is no possible equivalent for either player. It is painfully obvious how badly they miss Krejci's smart play. He makes everybody around him better.
And there would be no way to replace what Chara does in the defensive zone and on the PK.
Also sucking is Begin (a horrible signing by PC), but he has sucked all year so it is no surprise.

I am glad to Wideman playing great in the playoffs although that broken stick play was strange. It didn't really matter since the game was out of hand.
Speaking of broken sticks. I am so sick of the composite sticks breaking. Maybe they should be outlawed. I haven't seen anybody take a one time slap shot this playoffs without 1. breaking their stick, missing the puck, or not even being close to the net. It ain't working. I know it will look awesome and go on SPorts Center if they ever make on, but please stop trying. And this is every team in the NHL, not just the B's.
If Thomas has played like Rask the last 2 games he would be getting a lot more abuse than Rask has received. I am not saying that Rask deserves to be blamed, I am just saying he gets a lot more slack than Thomas ever got.
Anybody getting nervous that the Flyers are figuring him out?

The Habs leading the Pens 4-2 in the 2nd....though that game is taking a backseat to say the least. If the B's can't pull this out that result may be irrelevant.

Fun thing about the Pens game is the HUGE upset factor vs. one of the greatest comeback factors (no team has ever come back down 4 goals in a game 7).
Agreed that I'd love to see Paille score. He works hard and rarely makes mistakes.

If they don't win Game 7 they will go down in history....and deservedly so. I don't understand why they don't play with the desperation they played with in the final minute all game long. That's how they eliminated the Sabres and it's what they'll need to do in order to eliminate the Flyers.

JBS to answer your earlier question the roster next year will be similar to this year. A lot of guys (some unfortunately) singed at least through next year. The should have the #2 pick on the roster and maybe trade Thomas and his big salary (Washington?)
