Happy 70th Birthday: John Havlicek

RBSF would like to wish a very Happy Birthday to Celtics legend John Havlicek, who turns 70 today. Hondo played his entire 16-year NBA career (1962-1978) as a member of the Celtics. Havlicek is the Celtics career leader in Games (1,270), Minutes (46,471), Field Goals (10,513), Field Goal Attempts (23,930), Free Throws (5,369), Free Throw Attempts (6,589), Fouls (3,281) and Points (26,395). The 8-time NBA champion was also the 1974 NBA Finals MVP. But his biggest money moment came 45 years ago when Johnny Most announced that "Havlicek stole the ball" against Philly, advancing Boston to the '65 NBA Finals. Here's wishing a very happy #70 to the Celtics #17.

Hondo is on my all-time Celtics starting 5 for sure, joining Russell, Bird and Cousy. The final spot is up for grabs between several players, led by McHale (my current selection) and Pierce.
