The Indianapolis Colts attempt to win their 2nd Super Bowl in 4 years today in Miami, but the New Orleans Saints are standing in their way. These have been the NFL's best teams over the course of the season and both deserve to be here, but who will leave as champs? Will Peyton Manning put the finishing touches on another incredible individual year? Will Drew Brees lead the Saints to the glory less than 5 years after Hurricane Katrina put the city under water? Who will be the hero and who will be the goat? Who will walk away with MVP honors? What will be the best commercial? Will your squares hit for some money? We'll find out all of these answers in just a few hours as opening kickoff is set to take place at 6:20 pm. Former Patriots in the game:
COLTS (1)
Adam Vinatieri
SAINTS (3)
Randall Gay
Kyle Eckel
David Thomas
Both beat the Pats this year and the Saints were the best team we played all year.....but my prediction is:
FINAL SCORE:
Colts 30, Saints 27
*Adam Vinatieri ties Charles Haley for the most rings in NFL history with 5...even if he's just a spectator.
MVP:
Peyton Manning
*Sometimes the obvious choice is the right one.
While I'll be pulling for the Saints I think an experienced Colts team has the edge.
Prediction:
Colts: 35
Saints: 24
The NFC won the coin toss for the 13th year in a row....that is amazing!
I had a premonition that somebody from Georgia (either from there or went to school there) would be the hero in this game. I'm currently putting together a list of people that applies to.
Georgia colleges:
Colts (2)
Tim Jennings
Phillip Wheeler
Saints (3)
Chris Reis
Anthony Hargrove
Jon Stincomb
Hmmm, perhaps it's somebody born in Georgia?
After 1 drive each it's 3-0 Colts. The key was a 3rd down conversion pass to Austin Collie.
Saints fumble the kickoff but recover....I think they would have called him down anyway.
By the way, the Tim Tebow ad was much less of a big deal than it was made out to be.
Doritos is the early leader for best ad (dog collar on owner)
Saints stopped again but they down the punt at the 2 (or so). At least they're going to make the Colts work for it. (p.s. - Where do we get a punter like that)
Wow, Colts made going 96-yards VERY easy. 10-0 Colts on a TD pass to Garcon. The key to the drive was Joseph Addai though...he was running wild. 5 carries for 58 yards already.
Best ad #2: Also Doritos, kid threatens the guy to keep his hands off his mom and his Doritos.
The Go Daddy ads have gotten old/lame
I have Saints-7, Colts-0 for my one of my squares, so let's hope New Orleans can find the end zone in the next 30 seconds!
10-0 after the 1st. Saints need to score next or I'm afraid they're in jeopardy of being blown out.
Wow, an unnecessary roughness call on the Colts could give the Saints the momentum they've been looking for. Horrible penalty.
DK, any local connections on the Saints? Nice to see Manning lose.
Tom Brady 3
Peyton Manning 1
Peyton Manning is 9-9 in the playoffs.
I love it when the "experts" are wrong.
I was not wrong...
How come nothing was said about Peyton not shaking hands, but Belichick got railed on for weeks?
I did not hear about that. Good question. If it did come out I am sure there would be some spin about how he was trying to show respect to the Saints by getting off the field quickly or something stupid like that.
