In this week's edition of Mid-Week Miscellaneous.....Tiger Woods has scheduled a press conference for tomorrow to speak publicly since his scandal broke. For anyone holding their breath that he will say something news worthy you are likely to be disappointed.....I may be the only one, but I think Antawn Jamison is a better pickup for the Cavs for this season than Amare Stoudamire would have been.....It's beginning to look as though Northeastern is the Bay State's only hope to have a representative in March Madness, and even they are far from a lock.....these and any other items on your sports mind are open for discussion right here in MWM.....

Tiger has had 3 months to plan what to say...needless to say this will be very well rehearsed. Expect vague apologies and comments about moving forward.
I think he should wait another 3 months to hold a press conference.
I don't think he should say anything other than "It is a personal matter between me and my family. I am not answering any questions about it so don't ask. I will be happy to talk about golf."
It does seem like the exact wrong amount of time to wait. I know he wants to get back to playing golf, but when he ignored calls to come out and speak immediately, it seemed he was waiting it out... for another scandal to take the reins. It seemed like he was just beginning to be overlooked, and here he comes.
Watching Milbury and Roenick between periods of the Olympic hockey games has me thinking that they don't like each other very much.
Wow, that was quite a press conference by Tiger Woods. It's interesing he picked the weekend of the Accenture Match Play Championship to hold it since they were the first sponsor to drop him.
So duing his "apology" that was robotically read from a script he needed to tell the world:
* The Tiger Woods foundation is safe.
* Admonish the press for following his family around.
* That his wife didn't beat him up.
* And to remind everyone that he is a Buddhist.
Well, if that doesn't help his image then nothing will.
WJ, I was watching the Caps-Pens game on NBC a couple of weeks ago and Millbury had a very testy exchange with one of the other announcers. Perhaps he doesn't play well with others?
Monday (2/22/10) is the 30th anniversay of the "Miracle on Ice" game. Will, RBSF be doing an article to commerate the event since there were four local guys on the team?
That was just an incredible boost to the country's morale when it happened, but I don't think we're likely to capture that feeling again since the games have gone pro and many things have changed. (The cold war has ended, the Soviet Union is now Russia after many of the republics spun off, and we're now fighting the "war on terror", but I digress. . .)
If any RBSFs haven't seen the movie "Miracle" I'd highly recommend it. I might even have to see it again this weekend.
Just as important, Friday (2/27/10)will mark the 50th anniversay of the "Forgotten Miracle" when the US beat the Soviets en route to an Olympic gold.
That team also featured four local guys as well: Dick Rodenhiser, the Cleary brothers, and Jack Kirrane.
You should definitly do a story about the 1960's team. It'll make WJ happy.
Sad news today about the passing of former Patriot Mosi Tatupu. Has there been any news about the cause of death?
There is a Mosi Tatupu award in college football that is given to nation’s best special teams player. Wes Welker won it while playing at Texas Tech in 2003.
Bill Walker dropped 22 points for the Knicks last night.
The Ravens traded a 3rd and a 4th round pick for Anquan Boldin.
The Dolphins got Karlos Dansby (also from the Cardinals, via signing).
In addition to the post-prime Joey Porter Miami released at linebacker, they also gave up Ayodele and Gibril Wilson at FS.
Wilson actually might be able to help our waning secondary, if we are going to move Chung to CB.
Oh yeah, and Antrel Rolle, once Safety for the Cards is now on the Giants. The Cardinals are going to really fall off next season.
Meanwhile, we are sinking in our positioning in the AFC East.
If Miami had a Quarterback, they'd be a solid team, as is they are better than average, which we only looked if one cherry-picks a select set of games last year. The Jets have only added parts, except for the release of Thomas Jones... whom I think we should look at seriously (along with LaDainian Tomlinson).
