In Case You Missed It.....Today the United States will battle Canada for the gold medal in men's ice hockey at the 2010 Vancouver Games. The teams also met for the gold in 2002, with Canada prevailing in that one. But even though hockey is considered "Canada's game" the Americans hold a 2-1 advantage in gold medals since 1952. So can Ryan Miller continue his outstanding play in net and lead the Americans to their first gold medal since 1980? Or will Sidney Crosby lead a slew of talented Canadian scorers to victory?....the one victory that matters most to the host country in these games. My predictions: 1) First goal wins. 2) USA prevails 3-2.

Although I'm picking the Americans, and obviously rooting for them, the truth is that if both teams play their best games this will end up similar to the 2002 title game that Canada won 5-2 in fairly easy fashion.

Team USA had the outscored the Canada in the first meeting, but the Canadians outhit and out shot the US by a wide margin.
I think it may be a redux of 2002 this time around.
Phil Kessel's line has done nothing this Olympics. They need to step it up today.
Canada draw first blood about 13 minutes into the first period, but the play has been pretty even so far.
Canada goes on a PP with 6 minutes left in the period. Not a good few minutes for the US team.
USA is down 1-0 after the first period, but they have had some chances.
I have a feeling this game is going to get a lot chipper as more time comes off the clock.
US has killed off two penalities and are about to go on their first one of the game. Lets hope they can capilatize!
They couldn't but Canada scores when after the penality is up to make it 2-0. Ugh!
None of the goals has been the fault of Miller who has played pretty well.
Canada has the momentum right now, but USA is about to go on another PP.
The US PP looks like shite.
