Anybody notice Bryan Adams completely miss his first line of lip syncing at the opening ceremonies. Good stuff.

Yeah--that was pretty much the worst song I ever heard. Canada is awesome.

Last US skier passes the Canadian skier in womens' moguls for the gold. Awesome.

One South Korean speed skater takes out his countryman allowing US to take silver and bronze.
Good stuff.
What remote island will that guy be banished to?

Amazing. Hannah Kearney, US Woman gold medalist freestyle skiier told the US (to Bob Costas) that she is a huge Sox fan and wore a Jacoby Ellsbury T-Shirt during the opening ceremonies.

I saw Costas interview her and she was weird, made the win a little less special. Some other mogul skier from Duxbury MA wears a Red Sox belt buckle when he skis.

Is anybody else thrilled that the Canadians won a gold so we can finally stop hearing about them winning gold on home soil? What a dumb story line to be repeated every 35 seconds.

I am not digging NBC's graphics on a lot of the events. I have trouble following who is in the lead and the scores that competitors are receiving and where that places them.

I'm back......

So my thoughts from the opening weekend:

* Obviously that was crazy with the luger from Georgia. I still can't believe it didn't dawn on anyone to put up some padding there, and then to blame it 100% on driver error. Weird/sad.

* The moguls were odd to me. They had a 1st round with 27 people and then knocked it down to the finals which had 20 people. Why bother?

* I enjoyed the nordic combined (shooting & cross country skiing). So random, but exciting finish (US got the silver).

* The Ohno silver was also exciting with 2 Koreans taking each other out and Ohno cruising across for the silver and another American grabbing the bronze. Short track is 100 times more exciting than long track.

NBC's coverage of the games has been absolutely horrible. Does anybody else effin' detest Mary Carillo? My skin crawls every time she is on TV and opens her mouth with some stupid banter with Bob Costas, who seems to be more full of himself than ever.
Great job showing a 20 minute video on polar bears instead of showing more coverage of one of the most exciting events, Men's Downhill. I wish Carillo was maimed by one of those Lords of the Arctic.

... any excuse to get Collinsworth on the screen for another season.
