Patriots to Host Ravens Next Sunday

The NFL schedule is finally set for Wild Card weekend, and the Patriots will play host to the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday at 1 pm ET on CBS. The teams met back in Week 4 in Foxboro with the Pats prevailing 27-21 to improve to 5-0 all-time against the Ravens. In an odd twist, the other 3 games next weekend will all be rematches of games from this past weekend. In the other AFC game the Bengals host the Jets (Saturday, 4:30 pm ET on NBC). The NFC games will feature the Eagles visiting the Cowboys (Saturday, 8 pm ET, NBC) and the defending NFC Champion Cardinals hosting the Packers (Sunday, 4:40 pm ET, FOX).

The first time these teams met I thought bad coaching hurt Baltimore. The Pats clearly had no ability to stop Ray Rice (11 carries, 103 yards and 5 receptions for 49 yards) but the Ravens under-utilized him big time.

Aren't they playing THIS Sunday?

Yes, but it was posted yesterday...which would have made it next Sunday at the time it was written.

So if I ever post something that says "Big Game Tomorrow"....the following day that will be a reference to today's game.

I'll miss the entire game due to a flight. I say Brady throws for 300 and Faulk and Maroney both play a big role in the passing game

Pats win 30-20

I think the D is going to be the difference in this game, and the O might come out flat. I think the Pats win 23-17.

I am thinking Pats get out to a big lead in the first half 17-3 and hold on for a 20-17 victory.

Leigh Bodden with a pick 6.

Here are my keys to the game:
1. At least 4 screens to mini-me in the first 10 play to bring the secondary up so Moss will be able to spread the field early

2. Have Mark Levoir lined up at FB a lot constantly hitting Ray Lewis and setting the tone for this physical game

3. Pleanty of running play right at the DE's/ OLB's to keep the pass rush back and pull the LB's up another yard

4. Ben Watson needs to block well, and then get open on his option routes and pull in 3-4 catches behind the LB's.

Who is Ben Watson?

Final score on Sean-WJ bet.

Watson 5 tds - Bodden 5 picks.

Tie breaker goes to Bodden for scoring a TD, Watson did not get any picks.

Time to pay up Sean.
