The Bruins announced today that Marc Savard will out 3-to-4 weeks after suffering a partial MCL tear in his right knee during Thursday's game against the Blackhawks. This will be the second time this season Savard will be lost for a prolonged period, as he also missed 15 games earlier this season with a broken foot. The Bruins leading scorer in each of the past 3 seasons has 9-13-22 totals in 28 games this year. Savard joins Patrice Bergeron (thumb), Andrew Ference (groin) and Mark Stuart (sternum) as injured Bruins out of action. Let's hope for a full and speedy recovery for #91 as the offensively challenged B's will certainly need Savard down the stretch if they are hoping to make some noise this season.

Considering how serious this injury could have been, 3-4 weeks doesn't seem bad at all.
However, it's starting to be somewhat pathetic "celebrating" the injuries to Bergeron and Savard, etc, because they are not season ending.
Injuries are killing the Bruins this year, however, I'm optimistic that if they can get everyone healthy by March they'll be a real threat in the playoffs.
I heard Chiarelli getting interviewed earlier in the year when Savard was out and the reporter asked something like "doesn't it feel good to get the injuries out of the way before the payoffs?"
And Chiarelli very diplomatically said something like - that is a dumb comment/question. Geting injuries now doesn't preclude us from getting injuries later in the year.
