The Patriots (6-3) host the Jets (4-5) today in Foxboro. New England is seeking revenge for their loss to the Jets in the season's second game. The Jets are looking to change their losing ways of late, having lost 5 of 6, with their only win coming against the lowly Raiders. Wes Welker comes into the game 4th in the NFL in receptions (65) despite having missed 2 games. On the other end of the spectrum in Braylon Edwards, who has just 16 receptions for 271 yards and 1 TD since coming over from the Browns 5 games ago. After Monday Night's disappointing loss it wont be surprising to see New England take their frustrations out against the AFC East "rival". Let's go Pats!

Both teams forced to punt to start the game. Let's see what the Patriots do the second time around.
Lions come back to beat the Browns 38-37 on the final play of the game. Lions were down 21-0 to start the game.
4th and 1 at the jets 37 and Maroney picks up two yards for the first down.
Of course, CBS shows last weeks play again. Ugh.
Fumble? No fumble? What's the deal?!
Geez, Maroney coughs it up on the Jets 34 yard line. Belichick challenges the call, but I'm sure it will be inconclusive.
Don't think Larry will be back next year. Patriots better find themselves someone who can run and not fumble or dance.
Ruling stands, we lose the challenge and a timeout. Awesome!
I feel like the Jets are going ot march down the field and score now.
Boy do I feel a lot better right now. Bodden picks of a Sanchez pass and takes it to the house. Pats up 6-0.
PAT is good and its 7-0.
Jets return the kickoff to their own 18, but a penality will back them up to just inside the 10.
Jets run the ball twice to bring up a third and two. . and Braylon Edwards dropped the pass. Jets will have to punt!
Flag on the punt and their could be multiple infractions. .
There are two penalities, both on the Patriots, and they'll start this next series from their own 24 yard line.
Brady to Welker for 17 yards.
Ball on the 43 and the Patriots give the ball to Welker on an end around for 10 yards. I like the call.
Maroney goes for 2 yards, but hold onto the ball.
Revis knocks away another deep ball intended for Moss. I've got to give him credit, he's played well.
Brady to Welker for 15 yards and a first down.
Brady to Welker again and they have a first down at the NYJ12.
Maroney picks up 3 or 4 yards depending on the spot.
Brady pass to Faulk near the sideline incomplete.
Brady scrambles around and just misses Moss for a TD, but the Jets are called for holding.
Patriots with a fresh set of downs from the 4.
Brady to Moss on a quick pass for a TD! Its now 13-0.
Make it 14 points to close out the quarter.
Jets rush for one yard and then the Patriots almost sacked Sanchez to bring up third down.
This time they sack him and they Jets will have to punt!
TBC with the sack. Good to see him back in the lineup!
Patriots will takeover on their own 41. Welker hasn't been too effective on punt returns so far and given how much they've used him in the offense maybe they should put someone else out there for punt return duty.
Faulk picks up four yards on first down.
Jets blitz, but Brady connects with Welker for 43 yards to the NYJ3.
Maroney picks up one and its second and goal from the two.
This time he gets the two yards and its now 20-0.
Blackjack! Its now 21-0!
Patriots getting a little complacient on special teams as the Jets return the kickoff to their own 41 yard line.
Left tackle Sebastian Vollmer is out of the game with a head injury and his return is questionable. That's not good. I'm guessing will see Matt LeVoir in the next offensive series.
Jets in another third and long and Bodden picks off the pass again!
Patriots have done a good job mixing things up on defense and confusing Sanchez. He definitely looks uncomfortable back there today.
Brady to Moss for 5 yards.
Screen pass to Welker and Matt LeVoir just crushed the defensive back. What a hit!
Patriots with a 3rd and 1 and they give it to Law Firm for a couple of yards and a first down.
And Maroney peels off a 14 yard run up the middle and the Patriots look they're trying to send a message.
Maroney again for three yards and that will bring up 2nd and 7 from the NYJ26.
Edelman grabs a pass from Brady for 8 yards and a first down.
Patriot now looking at a 3rd and 9 at the NYJ14. Brady connects with Moss for about 5 yards and Gostkowski will try to make it 24-0.
FG is good with 4:14 left in the half. Let's hope thet don't let up on the Jets.
Jets start on their own 35.
Wilfolk crashes down on Thomas Jones like a wave for no gain.
Jets run again and this time Jones picks up 7 yards.
Jets trying some Wildcat on third down and the Patriots are all over it for a four yard loss. Nice!!!
Patriots will take over on their own 21 after a Welker fair catch.
Faulk runs for 8 yards, but it comes back on a hold by Mankins.
Two minute warning and the Pats will be looking at 1st and 20 from their own 11 when play resumes.
Faulk gains 10 yards on a pass from Brady and it looked like he might be hurt when he went back to the sideline.
Welker catches a short pass and it will be 3rd and 6 folling a Jets timeout.
Faulk back in.
Brady stripped of the ball and LeVoir falls on it. Brady had all day to throw and held it way too long. Patriots fortunate to keep the ball.
Holy cow! Hanson has the punt blocked from straight up the middle and the Jets score. Its now 24-7.
50 seconds to go in the half and the Patriot will likely just kneel on the ball depending on the kickoff return.
Edelman gets the ball out to the 32 so they may think about doing something here.
Edelman actually would have been better off letting the ball go as it was headed out of bounds.
Brady to Welker again for 23 yards.
Brady to Welker again and Brady took a pop there.
After some confusion on the field and a booth review the latest pass to Welker was ruled incomplete.
Refs really F'n this one up as they respot the ball six yards behind where it should be.
What a friggin mess. So it's 2nd and 10 and the NYJ30 with 23 seconds left.
Brady hammered and throws a wobbly incomplete pass.
Faulk gains 8 yards and gets out of bounds to set up the FG with 15 seconds left.
Gostkowski's kick just misses to the right and it will remain 24-7 heading into halftime.
It's the start of the 4th quarter and I'm back, but the Jets won't go away.
But Bodden is doing his best to make that happen as he picks off his thrid pass of the day!!
Patriots drive stalls at the NYJ 45 and they were forced to punt, which has been an adventure today. Fortunately, they got it away and they Jets called for a fair catch at the 7 yard line.
False start and its 1st and 14.
Thomas Jones gets back the penality yardage.
Sanchez scrambles around on second down and throws another pick. This time its to Merriweather.
Offensive pass interference back up the Patriots to the Jets 35.
Two more passes to Welker and its 3rd an d5.
Edelman makes some incredible moves to pick up the first down. Wow!
Maroney running like a man posessed and gets it to the goal line.
Brady sneak fails.
Give it to Maroney, he deserves it.
Another Brady sneak and its still just short.
And Maroney gets the job done and its 31-14.
Patriots must have gone into the awful prevent defense because the Jets are tearing off chucks of yardage here. They could still make things interesting with a little over four minutes left in the game.
Phew! TBC strips Sanchez of the ball and the Patriots recover to snuff out the Jets drive.
And that's all she wrote. The Patriot win 31-14 to avenge their loss to the Jets in the Meadowlands earlier this season.
Leigh Bodden's three interceptions tied a Patriots team record set by Asante Samuel in November of 2006.
Welker's 192 receiving yards was the 3rd best single game in Patriots history.
Brady had his 5th consecutive 300-yard game, 6th of season, and 29th career (Pats record).
Laurence Maroney recorded his third career multi-touchdown game, and his first since the 2007 regular-season finale.
I think Welker's 15 receptions are the most for a single game, surpassing Dallas Clark's 14 catches a few weeks ago.
The Patriots dominated the game today and made Mark Sanchez look like the rookie that he is, but there is still a number of things they need to work on if they hope to hand the Saints their first loss of the season next week.
But for now let's just enjoy today's win.
Player of the game: Wes Welker
Stong candidates:
Leigh Bodden
Tom Brady
Tully Banta-Cain
