Mid-Week Miscellaneous

As always there is plenty to discuss in this week's edition of Mid-Week Miscellaneous.....The NBA has banned players using Twitter during games. Seems sad this should even need to be said.....Will President Obama have enough pull to get Chicago the 2016 Summer Olympics?.....First former Red Sox pitcher Bronson Arroyo admitted he "probably" used PEDs, and now he's been accused by the St. Louis Cardinals of using pine tar to doctor baseballs....Is Michael Crabtree simply going to sit out the season and re-enter the 2010 NFL Draft instead of signing with the 49ers? If so, where does he go next year?....if you haven't seen Barry Sanders Jr. yet, check him out on You Tube.....these and any other topics on your sports mind are open for discussion here in MWM.....

DOH!

The Globe is reporting that Bill Walker has a meniscus tear in his knee and he will be out 6-8 weeks.

It is pretty pathetic that any league has to actually ban in-game tweeting. I always thought it was a given that you pay attention to the game even if you are not playing.

My breaking news is that Chicago was the first city thrown out of consideration for the Olympics.....nice work Obamas and Oprah, looks like you made a great impression on the committee. Next time send one of the corrupt Chicago politicians, like a Daly or Blagojevich, those guys know how to get things done.

I'm sure you've seen the footage of Junior Seau getting run over by a bull at the PBR, but here is the footage from Versus just in case you missed it:

Braylon Edwards headed to the Jets.

Michael Crabtree [finally] inks a deal for a reportedly 6 year, 32 Million Dollar deal; possibly 40 Million if he hits his incentives.
If he ends up being decent the 9ers could help balance out that very strong defense they have, with a sturdy offense.

That said, I don't think any unproven rookie should be able to hold their team for ransom the way Crabtree did.
Especially one from not one of the best programs AND a guy coming in with a damaged foot.

It worked for Scarecrow. Not Batman character but Dorothy's favorite.

It has come out that Theo Fleury was sexually abused by a coach while in Winnipeg.
