High School Spotlight: Jordan Johnson

In this week's edition of High School Spotlight we head to North Andover (MA) to take a look at Jordan Johnson of the Brooks School. Johnson is the quarterback for the 2-0 ISL team, but is also a major contributor on defense and special teams as well. On college football recruiting sites his position is listed as "Athlete" though he will likely be tried at cornerback at the next level. In 2 games this season he has already rushed for 268 yards and 4 TD, completed 9 of 14 pass attempts for 152 yards and 2 TD, and he also returned a kickoff 85 yards for a TD in their season opener. ESPN ranks Johnson as the #2 prospect in Massachusetts, and he'll be taking his considerable talents out west next year to play for Brigham Young, after choosing BYU over UConn. Oddly enough, Johnson's uncle works with Celtics boss and BYU alum Danny Ainge. Apparently Ainge, along with his son Austin, highly recommended that Johnson become a Cougar, and clearly their endorsement carried some substantial weight.

Other BCS schools Johnson was said to be considering were Maryland and Tulsa.

No mention of Boston College.
