The Red Sox (65-49) take on the Rangers (64-49) at 8:05 tonight in Texas. The Rangers are currently the Sox primary competition in the AL Wild Card race (Boston leads by 0.5 game) and are led by potential MVP candidate Michael Young, who is leading the Rangers in nearly every offensive category. The Red Sox send Jon Lester (9-7, 3.67 ERA) to do battle with Texas ace Kevin Millwood (9-7, 3.38 ERA). Let's go Red Sox!

In case you missed it, Sox acquired Alex Gonzalez from Cincinnati today. He's expected to join them for tomorrow's game, which will likely mean the end of Chris Woodward's short tenure in Boston.
Chris Woodward, we hardly knew ye!
Happy to have Gonzalez back though.
Frankie Violia in the booth tonight. Not bad, but no Eck.
Surprisingly candid comment from Violia:
"Scott Cooper was our all-star representative one year I was with the Red Sox, so it was an interesting time at Fenway"
How old is Omar Vizquel? That guy has been around forever.
Lester walks the first two batters he faced in the fourth inning but strikes out the side to keep the score at 2-0.
Slow moving game. This puppy could stretch out until midnight ET.
Unbelievable 9th inning win by the Sox! Even more unbelievable was the baserunning by Clay Bucholtz after he came in to pinch run for Big Papi. I'll see if I can find the link to the video.
