The Red Sox (62-43) look to pretend like last night's 13th inning walk off loss to the Rays (59-48) never happened. The Rays are now 4 games behind the Sox in the Wild Card standings and a win tonight by Boston would be a nice statement of character to bounce back from adversity. The Sox bullpen is absolutely shot so don't be surprised if an arm is called up today to for support, especially with Brad Penny (7-5, 5.07 ERA) taking the hill tonight. While Penny has gone 5 innings or more in 17 straight starts, he has not completed 7 innings all year. The Rays will have David Price (4-4, 5.10 ERA) facing the Sox in a nationally televised game on ESPN. Price has had a rocky rookie season, but did go 7 innings with just 1 earned run in his last start (though it was vs. the Royals). Let's forget last night ever happened and win tonight. Let's go Red Sox!
