The Red Sox (33-24) hope to move into a tie for 1st place in the AL East tonight when they host the division leading Yankees (34-23) at Fenway Park. Boston has won all 5 meetings between the two teams so far in 2009. New York, however, will have Alex Rodriguez (.248, 8 HR, 23 RBI) in the lineup against Boston for the first time this year. They will also have AJ Burnett (4-2, 4.69 ERA) who is 5-0 lifetime against the Sox. Boston will counter with Josh Beckett (6-2, 4.09 ERA) who has been dominant of late. They will certainly need their ace's best effort tonight, especially with Jacoby Ellsbury out of the lineup (sore shoulder). Let's go Red Sox!

AJ looks pretty bad
Sox are 5 picks a away in MLB draft
http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/draft2009/news/story?id=4246340
66 pitches for AJ after 2.
4-0 Sox
62 pitches I mean
Jeter hits out to make their 3rd Out.
1 2 3 for the Sox.
Not much of a break for AJ.
Let's keep these bats swinging!!
Here we go Lowell!
a ball and a strike,
low and outside
2 Balls, 1 Strike
again low and outside
3 Balls, 1 Strike
and AJ walks him on next pitch.
Papi to the plate...
2 Balls 0 Strikes
He's pitching to the same spot he did Lowell.
It is Inside on Papi.
Papi got him to 3 and 0
then 3 and 1
then he popped out to shallow left.
Damn, Lowell gets picked off.
I'm thinking Tek missing a hit & run there is the likely deal....no way Lowell is trying a straight steal.
Another walk.
Burnett is not impressive at all.
Kotsay moves Tek to 2nd with a Single to Right.
Red Sox on the clock in the MLB Draft.
Burnett's hit and miss.
Some nights it seems he is their number 1.
...and according to Baseball America the #9 player is still available at #28!
Green with a 2-out RBI double.
5-0!
YES!!! more runs.
Off the Monster for Nick Green.
5th run.
I can see that Luke...when he blew a fastball by Drew earlier I was thinking "how does anyone ever get a hit off this guy" and then 2 pitches later Drew took him off the wall for a double.
Sox took Puerto Rican High School OF named Raymond Fuentes.
It looked like Green yelled at A-Rod right before he caught that pop up
Guy the Sox just took his Carlos Beltran's nephew.
Hope he's got the genes.
Pedroia with a Brilliant stop. But can't get the throw out.
2 Outs
Man on First and Second.
Fievel up to bat.
Posada Strikes Out on a 96 MPHer.
Ends Inning.
Papi can get over .200 here!
It still kills me to see Tony Pena in the NY dugout.
NYY 0 1 1
BOS 6 7 0
Middle of 6th.
Solo shot by Green.
