Ladder Challenge: Cashman vs Pedroia

In last week's Ladder Challenge it was Tim Wakefield defeating Don Nelson with 87% of the vote to enter the Ladder at #97. This week 2008 AL MVP Dustin Pedroia (#94) tries to move up the Ladder by challenging 2 time Stanley Cup winner Wayne Cashman (#85). Despite Cashman's titles and longevity, Pedroia's impressive resume in such a short time earns him our vote this week. So who has your support in this week's Ladder Challenge? (and remember, most votes in the comments section is the tie-breaker, so be sure to voice your opinion!)

Cashman certainly has an impressive resume and as a 17-year Bruin that never played for another team, was captain for 5 season, won 2 rings and was an enforcer as well...tough to go against him. But the reigning MVP has already gotten some hardware of his own, both with his team and as an individual, and this vote is also partially based on what is expected to come in future years from the Destroya. Since he has already signed an extension his numbers, and rank on the Ladder, should keep going up and up in coming years.

I am sick of this "in the future" crap with Pedroia and Brady. They should be judged only on what they have accomplished so far, not what you think or hope they might accomplish.

Cashman..or as I like to call him, Cash Man.

Pedroia ALREADY has more individulal honors than Cashman, and only 1 less title.

The "in the future" talk was just a tie-breaker (of sorts) because adding anything to what he has already done is a bonus.

And for the record I voted Bird over Brady.

Tie-breaker = Partially

Speaking on Brady (only)...
I never said I was saying he was getting the edge on Bird because of what he had yet to do, I gave him the edge anyway. I was just not prepared to assume he has no future prospects of upcoming accomplishment ever again.
