Sox Report: Game 34 vs Angels

The Red Sox (21-12) try to follow up last night's exciting come from behind win with another victory tonight over the Angels (16-15). Jason Varitek (2 hits, game winning RBI) was the hero of last night's game, but he never would have had the chance if not for more great work from the Boston bullpen. Manny Delcarmen, Ramon Ramirez and Jonathan Papelbon combined for 3 innings of 1 hit relief without allowing an earned run. On the season the 3 have ERA's of 0.52, 0.52 and 1.20 respectively. Tonight Tim Wakefield (4-1, 2.93 ERA) starts for the Sox, hoping to give the relief corps some rest. L.A. counters with Matt Palmer (3-0, 3.06 ERA) who has been one of the best stories of the season for the Angels. Let's go Red Sox!

Also of note, Ellsbury had 2 hits and a steal last night. Whenever he plays well they win.
