Game 2: Celtics vs Magic

The Celtics try to even up their playoff series with the Magic tonight after dropping Game 1 on Sunday. Although there were some things for the C's to feel good about despite the loss, there was also plenty of room for improvement, most notably in the Boston backcourt. Ray Allen, who was lights out for most of the Bulls series (including a 51 point performance), was just 2-12 shooting (1-7 on 3's) for 9 points. His running mate, Rajon Rondo, was a triple-double machine against Chicago, but was also 2-12 from the floor and added 7 turnovers in the Game 1 loss. If those two can turn things around for Game 2 (and the Celtics can avoid falling behind by 28 once again!) this best-of-seven series should be even at one apiece after Game 2 tonight. Let's go Celtics!

Rondo needs to play better, period. I'm not as worried about Ray's shooting (he had a terrible Game 1 vs the Bulls too) as I am about Rondo seeming to lack energy.

Hoping for another solid outing out of the bench too.

I will miss this ENTIRE game on tv for an event 45 minutes from my house. It better be on national radio. DK - expect a lot of phone calls.

KG (1st Team, 35 points) and Rajon Rondo (2nd Team, 23 points) were named to the NBA All-Defensive team today, as voted by NBA head coaches.

Just switched over from the Bs. . . Celts are up 18-10. Anything noteworthy so far?

Perk with a nice block and they call a tripping foul down the other end on Orlando.

DuffMan said...

Looked like a weak call on the replay.

Reddic hits a three. Who woke up his career?

DuffMan said...

Ray answers back with a reverse layup on the other end.

DuffMan said...

Reddic pops another trey!

I can't believe I'm about to write "we need to find an answer for JJ Reddic"

DuffMan said...

Tyler Perry sucks and so do his overly sensitive movies!

DuffMan said...

Nice inbound pass behind the hoop and Perk lays it in for two.

Never excited to see Scal in the lineup.

Rondo comes up short on a floater. He just doesn't have his shot this series.

DuffMan said...

Reddic hit another three. Are you kidding?!!

Ugh! Tony Allen enter the game.

26-21 Celtics after one.

Ray & Rondo both came to play tonight...just as we asked for!

Way to quash the comeback! Back up by 16!

Pierce picked up his 4th quickly in the 2nd half...amazing if they keep their big lead with him contributing practically nothing tonight.

Quick swich over from the Bs and Eddie House buries a three to put the Cs up by 22.

C's pulling away: 77-56. Good thing because I have enough stress dealing with the B's at the moment.

DK said...

2:06 left in the 3rd and Rondo already has a triple double.

E.House the game's leading scorer (17).

DuffMan said...

Just swiched over from the Bs, which is tied up at 2 at the end of regulation.

Looks like the C's are up by 22 heading into the fourth quarter.

93-71 Celtics....and PP has 3 points!

There was some sort of altercation between House and Alston (Alston slapped him on the back of the head?) that resulted in double T's....looking forward to seeing the video of that.

Pietrus is way better than I realized.

Bs last 3-2 in OT. Hopefully, the Celtics can right the ship or else I'm staying up for some Cinamax.

Celtics up 110-92 with 30 seconds left and the bench playing.

DuffMan said...

Nothing really to add, but I'm unwilling to let a regular season baseball game get out blogged by playoff basketball game.

DuffMan said...

Does enshrinement into the RBSF HOF the same as retirement? Where are all of the regulars?

Good question about the HOF'ers. I know JBS was unavailable tonight but Luke & GMAC both MIA.

DuffMan said...

31 for House?! That's unbelievable for a guy coming off the bench. He's been shooting pretty well this series. Maybe some of that will rub off on PP. He just hasn't looked himself in either series. At some point he's going to get it going again.

DuffMan said...

Don't get me wrong about the HOFers. Not picking on anyone, putting anyone down, or doing some passive-aggressive lobbying. I enjoy their comments and it makes viewing the games more enjoyable when those guys are chiming in as well.

Walpole Joe very entertaining and hope to see more from Gator, PB, Sean, Boston Bob, et al for the weekend games.

ralson better be suspended. That was RIDICULOUS

Dude, I was watching the game with friends. Gimme a break...

I have a life.

(I SAW the Alston slap, in real-time too)
