This post is for the second game of the Red Sox day/night doubleheader with the Twins. To post for the afternoon game go to the original Game 14 post. As a result of yesterday's rain out Boston and Minnesota will play their entire 2 game series in one day today. Brad Penny (1-0, 11.00 ERA) is looking for a chance at redemption after a poor outing in his Fenway debut. On the bright side for Penny is that the Sox have won both of his starts this season despite uneven performances. He'll be opposed by the Twins Francisco Liriano (0-3, 5.09 ERA). Despite Liriano's tough start record-wise, he still a pitcher with phenomenal stuff and is capable of dominating on any given start. Boston is just hoping that "given start" doesn't come tonight. Let's go Red Sox!

Once again, all I ask of Penny is 6 innings, 3 runs. Anything better than that is gravy...for now at least.

1. I would like acknowledge that I was flat out wrong about wake. I thought and said he was a waste of a roster spot...Needless to say he has been huge. Eating innings and pitching effectively...
2. Great to see Ortiz and jacoby hitting the ball the past two games. Along with mike lowell, if those 3 guys are back in prime form, the sky is the limit for this team.

Sox up 5-1. I have watched 2 batters all day and they were a HR and 2B by Minnesota.
Considering the Sox won the 1st game 10-1 and were winning this one 5-0 when I tuned in I think I'll go back to the B's!
What's up with the Sox uniforms? Is that to support the Celtics? Not to go off on a tangent, but do you think the Bulls will wear their green uniforms at home? Apparently, they're not just for St. Patrick's day.
Earth day, duh! The styrofoam containers with take-out dinner were blocking the recycle logo. Still doesn't explain the shamrock though. . .
