5. MEXICO - My surprise pick has national pride going for them and a relatively easy opening pool
4. JAPAN - They showed they can win in '06 and they have a legit ace in Dice-K.
3. DOMINICAN REPUBLIC - Too much firepower not to break out.
2. PUERTO RICO - Appear to be actually built as a team.
1. USA - Did you see them almost mercy rule a very good Venezuelan team? They seem to be taking thing much more seriously this time around.

PR just had a major comeback win - Yadier Molina was super clutch after Pudge and Beltran were not. I would love to see the Netherlands get in though. So fun to watch them.
I like Japan still. Yu Darvish looks unhittable.

Even though we know nothing about any of their guys, I believe after watching them this weekend that Cuba will win the WBC...They mash.

this tourney is amazing. Everyone is so into it! Just wasted the DR game on replay - and that was just an incredible baseball game.
