ESPN is attempting to choose which state has the best "Mt. Rushmore of Sports", and somehow Massachusetts was not selected as 1 of the 5 finalists. Obviously we here at RBSF disagree with ESPN (not the first or even second time that has happened). But the question is, who should be on the Mt. Rushmore of Boston sports? Russell? Red? Bird? Brady? Belichick? Hannah? Havlicek? Orr? Shore? Bourque? Big Papi? Teddy Ballgame? Yaz? Rocky? Flutie? Somebody else? My Mt. Rushmore would represent each of our 4 pro sports teams: Bill Russell, Bobby Orr, Ted Williams and Tom Brady. Who would be on your mountainside?

They discussed this on "The Big Show" on WEEI yesterday and one person they seemed unanimously in favor of being on was Red Auerbach. Personally I disagree (obviously since he wasn't on my mountain). If Red is a better choice than Russell than Belichick is also a better choice than Brady.
It can also be argued that not every team needs to be represented.
I think my #2 group would be....
Auerbach-Bird-Belichick-Rocky
#3
Havlicek-Shore-Yaz-Hannah
I agree with your final choice of Russell, Williams, Orr, and Brady.
I had a little debate about Orr since he didn't play his full career in Boston, but he didn't have his best years here.
I actually thought I might see Ray Bourque or Cam Neely on your honorable mention.
i agree with 1 guy from each franchise but i am going to take
1-orr
2-auerbach
3-belichick
4-ted williams
for the last 20 years
1-neely
2-pierce
3-belichick
4-ortiz
they had the mt rushmore of boston in the paper the other day. it was marciano, orr, williams and russell
espn had orr, williams, brady and auerbach
