Celts Report: Game 74 vs Hawks

The Celtics (54-19) visit Atlanta tonight to take on the Hawks (42-30) in a rematch of last year's 1st round playoff battle. These two last met back on December 17 with the C's winning an exciting 88-85 on the road. Although both teams lost their last game (Boston's was Wednesday in Orlando), Atlanta had won 8 of 9 prior to that, so they are obviously playing well with with the playoffs on the horizon. Keven Garnett said to be doubtful for the Celts, and Leon, Scal and TA are all still out....so once again it will be up to the guys in uniform to pick up the slack. Are Rondo and Perk (the top 2 stars last time they met) and the rest of the Green up to the task? We'll find out tonight. Let's go Celtics!

Since I always feel more than free to bash bad umps/refs I do feel the need to point out some excellent refereeing that took place in this game.

Perk was clearly pissed that he has gotten 3 fouls...while on the bench he asked the ref for clarification....the ref explained it in detail and then said, "okay? are we good?"...I will report his name when I figure it out.

Meanwhile the C's are up 52-42 at halftime. Must admit I haven't seen much. Mostly watching the tourney...but every time I've turned the game on it seems like Marbury is doing something good.

Everytime I see Josh Smith play it baffles me that he is not a consistent All Star. He's so talented.

3 STARS:

1.Davis
2.R.Allen
3.Pierce

E.House, Marbury and Moore all with solid games, but Ray and Pierce were so solid down the stretch to hold off the Hawks.
