The Bruins (43-14-9, 95 points) hit the road this afternoon after a 3-2-1 homestand, taking on the Rangers (34-24-8, 76 points) at Madison Square Garden. Although the B's offense had been stagnant in their previous 3 games, they came back to life in yesterday's 5-3 win, led by Mark Recchi's first 2 goals as a Bruin. The Rangers slumped badly after the All Star break, but have won 3 in a row. This game also marks recently reacquired Sean Avery's return to MSG as a member of the Rangers. Hopefully Boston can make sure this will not be a happy homecoming for Avery and company. Let's go Bruins!

1-1 with 13 minutes left in the 2nd. Chuck Kobasew has the B's' goal assisted by Chara.
Manny Fernandez playing net for the B's today......
"Blake Wheeler, given a one-game hiatus in the pressbox on Saturday, will be back in the lineup, likely riding with old linies David Krejci and Michael Ryder.".....well this explains why I didn't notice Wheeler once all game on Saturday.
Bs tie it up at 3!!!!
Manny Fernandez just made a bonehead play 4-3 Rangers. Seriously idiotic. Watch the highlights
Unfortunately that was the end of the scoring.
Final: 4-3 Rangers
3 STARS
1-CHARA
2-KOBASEW
3-BERGERON
Just watched the 3rd period on DVR. Bs dominated the 3rd and couldnt get it done. Fernandez's play was frustrating...but good comeback by Bs
I was at the game today, and here's what I noticed:
B's played a much more fluid, cohesive style of play, but had trouble at times matching New York's aggressiveness. Very contentious relationship between the teams, at least 3 and 1/2 fights, and on a day when the NY audience was rather subdued for much of the game (in part due to Daylight Savings, and in part just an early Sunday game I would think).
Great steal by Savard, fresh off the sub.
Chara played well, he is big.
All in all, I definitely think we have enough to do it this year, it is just a matter of whether we get the balance together, of pretty play vs. effective play - today we did not.
i was there too luke. chara live is ridiculous. felt like bruins would tie it up even with time running down to nothing and they never could. not sure why
hate to say it but im starting to get a little nervous
