The Bruins (42-14-9, 93 points) wrap up a 6-game homestand this afternoon when they host the Blackhawks (36-17-9, 81 points) in an Original 6 matchup. This homestand started out promising for Boston with back-to-back blowout wins, but they are 0-2-1 in their last 3 games. Chicago, currently 4th in the West, will be no pushover to help end the B's winless ways. The 'Hawks young forwards are led by leading scorer Martin Havlat (21-36-57), 2008 Rookie of the Year Patrick Kane (20-36-56) and the youngest NHL captain Jonathan Toews (26-28-54). So can the Bruins overcome these young guns and get their first W in 9 days? Let's' hope so...because The Mrs and I will be at the Garden to take in all the action live. Let's go Bruins!

Not trying to jinx the B's...but I think I have about a 10 game personal win streak at Bruins games. Let's keep that one alive today and put an end to their current streak.
DK. Do you have a mailing list???????????
B's battle back in the second period to take a 3-1 lead heading into intermission. Good to see some intensity, but hopfully they don't have a 3rd period letdown as has been the norm of late.
A power play goal by the Blackhawks closes the lead to 4-3. Tim Thomas has made some incredible stops since to keep on top.
Nice interception by PJ Axelson and empty net goal to seal the W. The B's needed this one.
My winning streak at B's game remains in tact!!!
Great game. Recchi with 2 big goals, DDK and Kessel both score, PJ makes a nice play on the empty-netter to finalize it.....5-3 win!!!
On a negative: Dennis Wideman is really not playing that well right now. Turning the puck over in his own zone two games in a row including multiple times today, but fortunately it didn't come back to haunt him today like it did last game.
I also feel like Aaron Ward is absolutely useless. He was not covering anyone in front of the net on the Chicago power play and I pointed this out to The Mrs about 10 seconds before the Blackhawks goal. So at the very least I thank him for making me look good in that way. I do understand he is a great locker room guy and veteran leader, but he's really just not that good of a player in my opinion.
Also, did Blake Wheeler play today? I didn't notice him once if he did.
3 STARS...
1-MARK RECCHI (2 goals)
2-PATRICE BERGERON (great all-around play today)
3-DYNAMITE DAVID KREJCI (goal and good work on special teams)
Also, watching Zdeno Chara live gives a much better appreciation for how dominant he is and how much space on the ice he owns. He easily could have been the #3 star today.
Bruins on national TV vs. Rangers! awesome
dk you should see if the bs will give you playoff tickets this year to help secure a cup around here!!!
