Ladder Challenge: O'Reilly vs Rice

In last week's Ladder Challenge it was The Grey Eagle, Tris Speaker, edging out Big Papi, David Ortiz, to maintain his spot at #36 on the RBSF Ladder. This week newly elected Hall of Fame outfielder Jim Rice (#39) attempts to jump up two spots by taking on former Bruins captain Terry O'Reilly (#37). In a contest of two players that played their entire careers in Boston, and two of my personal favorites, my vote this week goes to Jim Ed, who I believe was simply a better player. Who has your support this week?

Luke, Rice was too far back to challenge Clemens. If next week's challenger is within range I will put the Rocket on the line. I said next time he is eligible to be challenged he will be and I'm sticking to it.

and for tie-breaker purposes let me reiterate that my vote is for Rice.

I loved watching O'Reilly - but I remembered how many times he fell during a game - the guy can't skate. However - he was the best instigator ever.

Rice was incredible to watch. His HOF and all time Sox totals make him win this in a landslide. The numbers speak for themselves.

i am slightly too young to really remember either of these guys in their prime so i have to go by the numbers and in that contest rice wins hands down
