Kevin Garnett injured his right knee in the first half of last night's game against Utah and will miss the final 3 games of the C's road trip. He has returned to Boston for testing. The extent of KG's injury and expected date of his return are currently unknown, though Danny Ainge says the Celtics are just "'being cautious". Doc Rivers also sounded reassuring when he said they simply want KG "close to 100%". In the meantime, barring an addition, the job of picking up the considerable slack will fall to Scal, Big Baby and Leon. Let's hope they are up to the challenge. Obviously any/all of these guys can't replace KG for a long period (let's hope they don't have to) but possibly they can fill his shoes for the remainder of the trip...by which point Garnett has hopefully returned.

Last night...
Garnett issued the following statement: "As you know, I suffered an injury, a strain to my right knee, during the game and I really don't have any comment about it. I will have the knee re-examined (Friday) and we should have more information at that time. Obviously, I would much rather be playing instead of providing this statement."
Gotta love KG
no question luke
if some of those other guys get a groove and some confidence this could actually be helpful in the long run. but hopefully it is only 3 games. more than that and this becomes a serious problem
I agree with Bob and think it could [potentially] be a good thing down the road.
UPDATE: Strained muscle, out 2-3 weeks.
