Nickname Game: Jon Lester

Last week, for the first time in the brief history of the Nickname Game, RBSFs were unable to come up with a nickname for the featured player. "None of the above" easily won the voting while trying to find a nickname for Leon Powe...so for now Leon will just continue to be Leon. Let's see if Logan Mankins, the player currently being voted on, will have better luck. Meanwhile this week's featured player is Jon Lester, the lefty starter who beat cancer, won the clinching game of the '07 Series, tossed a no hitter this past May and has emerged as a bona fide ace. Now it's time to find Lester a nickname. Post your suggestions here and the best options will be voted on next week.

JBS, if you were going to go the 5-year old route I'd think "Mo" would have been a better choice.

The Ice Man - He is #31 - Baskin Robbins has 31 Flavors -cool as ice.

The scarecrow- Mr. October on the hill and #31 - Halloween.

Destiny's Child - Tacoma, WA is the city of Destiny.

That's all i got - not great but better than the Molestor and much more original than Lefty - which belongs to Phil Mickelson and his man breasts.

King - he rules over the Royals (his no hitter was vs KC)

By the way....

I've decided to alternate "Nickname Game" with "Prospect Watch" on Tuesdays...that way we don't have to stretch too badly to try and find guys to nickname, and of course the nicknames for them.

Stilt

due to his ability to comeback from cancer he has proven to be the best rebounder since Wilt Chamberlain.
