The Eastern Conference leading Bruins (18-4-4, 40 points) meet the Lighting (6-12-8, 20 points), a team they beat 3-1 in Tampa Bay just four days ago. While the sizzling hot B’s have won 4 straight, the ice cold Lightning have an NHL-worst 7-game losing streak. Apparently firing Barry Melrose was not the answer to all of Tampa Bay’s woes. Bruins sniper Phil Kessel (16-7-23) has the NHL’s longest active point streak at 11 games, a span over which he has put up 9-4-13 totals. Despite stars Vincent Lecavalier (10-13-23) and Martin St. Louis (7-14-21) are doing their best tot keep Tampa Bay competitive, but two players is far from enough in the NHL to be successful…especially when you hit the road to take on the Conference leaders.

I do realize it makes it a bit difficult to post during the game if there is no post up...sorry!
Not always easy to keep everything up to date despite my best efforts.
For the record...
B's up 3-0 after the 1st
B's up 4-1 after the 2nd
Tampa cut it to 4-3 with under a minute to go, but Axelsson adds an empty net goal for the 5-3 final.
Other B's goal scorers...
Lucic (on a sick feed from Wideman)
Kessel (unassisted)
Ryder
Chara (slap shot on PP)
3 Stars...
1-Wideman
2-Kessel
3-Chara
Whether or not folks realize it it appears Phil Kessel may be ready to make the jump from solid to star. He looks like a different player this year. I wonder if the benching in last year's playoffs is getting too much credit or if that really did wake him up.
