If anyone was worried about the Celtics (7-1) lacking motivation while working their way through the regular season, tonight’s game against the Hawks (6-0) should supply plenty of it for Boston. Not only do they face a team that brought them to the brink of elimination in the opening round of the playoffs last season, but they are also going up against the lone undefeated team in the East. Last season’s playoff battle got very heated at times, and tonight’s matchup should be no different. Atlanta is led by Joe Johnson (23.8 points, 4.8 rebounds, 4.5 assists) and Al Horford (11.8 points, 10.2 rebounds). They also have Mike Bibby (15.5 points, 5.5 assists) running the points, the same man who called Celtics supporters “bandwagon fans” last spring. In last year's playoffs the home team won all 7 games. Let's hope the streak continues tonight!
I can't wait to have a new team to really hate tonight! The Hawks will talk a ton of trash and play well against us. They will get under our skin again and become legitimate rivals.
Did someone make a time machine? Its like the 80s all over again. Boston beats LA in the finals and the Hawks are a good team..Does it feel like everyone should be wearing short shorts and socks up to the knee..

Refereeing is HORRIBLE so far. Gorman said he's speechless and Heinsohn is so mad he literally is speechless. Ridiculous!

I am not able to watch - only on computer....looks like this is par for the course on how we start and how other teams start all year. Is there some trash talking? Can someone give a bit of how body language is? Taunting?

If the C's are going to win they need to get back into it on the defensive end. Atlanta can't keep shooting lights out.
Not trying to complain too much but the refs suck. Mike Gorman is complaining and he is usually the voice of reason so that tells you something.
Ray Allen is hot but he just missed a 3 that would have been HUGE

In New York watching Knicks at Memphis on tv. NOBODY AT GAME IN MEMPHIS!!! Remind me why they have a franchise? This is ridiculous. Marc Gasol is playing well and OJ Mayo looks amazing.

KG with a HARD dunk and then some taunting. One ref called a tech for taunting and then another ref called it off. I don't know if I've ever seen that.
Heinsohn: If he called a technical for taunting on that I'd go out on the court and taunt him!!!!
Leon draws a charge. They are saying he draws more than anyone in the league. What an underappreciated skill.
Final play of the half....lousy pass by Ray Allen to turn it over and then KG fouls to make it worse.

Ray Allen is clearly the star of the game so far, but Perk's intensity might be the biggest spark. He fired up his team and the crowd. Love it!
Great pass by Ryder after good breakout by Axelsson...Bergeron barely missed scoring. Solid shift.
I feel like the Hawks don't take advantage of Marvin Williams enough. He seems to do everything solid.
Rondo has 8 assists and could easily have as many as 12. Bibby has no chance of stopping his penetration and when someone helps Rondo dishes.
Zaza out for the rest of the game.
If Rondo can hit the running push shot (aka the Sherm Douglas), which he just missed, he's be so much more effective.
Rondo REALLY needs to improve his free throw shooting. Amazing listening to Heinsohn break down his flaws in shooting. Tommy is amazingly knowledgable about basketball no matter what some people think of his being a homer.
Sweet baseline turnaround by KG. Unstoppable when he's on with that.

It seems like Atlanta is poorly coached to me...which I realize is slightly unfair to say about a 6-0 team. I thought the same thing about the Raptors.
Terrible play by TA! House makes a nice play, Allen gives it right back with a foolish looking drive, and Atlanta comes right back and scores.
