The Celtics (6-1) return home to face the Raptors (4-2) tonight. Boston rides a 3-game win streak into the game, including their big win yesterday in Detroit. Toronto was predicting by folks to be a strong contender in the East this year. They return Chris Bosh (26.7 points, 11.0 rebounds) one of the best big men in basketball, as well as sure handed point guard Jose Calderon (16.2 points, 9.3 assists). They have also added former All Star Jermaine O’Neal (10.5 points, 6.3 rebounds) who may not be the dominant inside force he was with Indiana, but certainly adds another presence in the paint to couple with Bosh. Boston will certainly have their hands full tonight, especially coming off a big road game yesterday. Follow all of the action right here!

1.Should be a good test for KG/Perk inside tonight.
2.Bosh REALLY impressed me on Team USA at the Olympics.
3.Good test for Rondo.
4.Pierce and/or Ray need to score big tonight. They have the most obvious mismatches in this game.
Also....
Happy Birthday Perk! Amazing that he is only 24 today.
In the interests of full disclosure, I must admit I was more wrong about Bosh than any other NBA lottery pick I can remember. I thought he'd be awful, but he is awsome.
He also clearly improves every year. This year he seems to have taken his jump shot back another few feet.
Celts down 23-18 after the 1st. Not surprising on the 2nd half of a back-to-back with travel.
Jermaine O'Neal looks like the old O'Neal so far. Need to find a way to stop him!
Big Baby is -10 in less than 2 minutes. That is borderline impossible to do.
Toronto lead up to 16 (42-26). Celts are playing with absolutely zero life. Not one big man has made their presence felt on the court period.
Pierce and R.Allen have 8 each to lead Boston, but even those 2 are a combined 4-12.
O'Neal and Perk come close to going at it there. I think KP is just getting frustrated, but O'Neal totally overreacted to a foul and made a foul into a Double-T.
Took less than a half to remind me that regardless of his obvious talent why Jermaine is not a guy you want on your team.
"I love Perk" - Mike Gorman
"Perk's afraid of no man" - Tommy
Rondo get's his 1st assist of the night with 2:38 left in the 1st half.
Horrible turnover Rondo.
Great D by KG.
Horribly missed layup by Pierce.
Literally one step forward, two steps back all game so far.
Boston's D is picking it up in the past few minutes but the offense is still terrible. They need to go to their easiest scoring source: Pierce.
Another missed layup by Pierce. He's 2-10 and missed to open layups in a row. Yikes! KG was there for the open put back at least.
Celtics down 48-36 at halftime, and honestly it could be a lot worse.
In the first half the C's shot 12-37 and 1-10 on 3's.
That deserves to by down a dozen.
KG is really the only one that had a decent 1st half. Will be interesting to see what type of fire the Celts come on with in the 2nd half.
C's bench got outscored 19-6 in the 1st half.
Ray Allen with Boston's first 4 of the 2nd half...FEED THE HOT HAND!!!!
Celtics down 8 (59-51) but seem to have gained momentum.
Thibodeau is coaching his ass off from the sideline.
Down to 6 on some great ball movement. KG and Pierce are taking their intensity to the next level.
KG just fouled Bosh SO blatantly and then screamed at the ref. JBS mentioned it before and that is a perfect example: How does he not get called for more techs?
Great ball movement again: Pierce to Rondo to KG for 2.
Lead down to 3.
"Look at Garnett" has been said 10 times by Gorman in the past 5 minutes.
Calderon and KG are jawing big time!
E.House enters for Rondo (who is not playing well) with Celts down 69-61. This is a chance for Eddie to really be a spark.
Heinsohn just said the C's are over passing. Couldn't agree more, they've been doing it all game, especially Rondo.
Heinsohn to Gorman: "Hey, are you rooting for us or them?" LOVE IT!
Leon takes a charge from O'Neal. Great work Leon!!!
Down 69-63 with 10 minutes to go. Plenty of time.
Old-fashioned 3 point play for Pierce. Lucky basket but sick drive. Hit the free throw!
...and he does.
69-66 Raptors.
Kapono beats the shot clock and hits a tough shot. Great team D by the Celts....shame it wasn't rewarded.
Celtics answer with a nice Pierce drive and lay down to Leon for the dunk.
Kapono misses, Pierce hits.
71-70...16 point lead is down to 1!
Pierce is playing great all of a sudden.
TA playing great D for the C's.
...and then gets called for a TERRIBLE offensive foul call. Heinsohn is going crazy as is Doc. Should be at the line trying to make it a 3-point play.
KG & Ray return with 6 minutes left.
74-70 Raptors.
3-pointer by Pierce! He's up to 25 and playing amazing right now.
Anthony Parker hits a 3 and The Truth answers him with another 3!!!
C's get a stop and then E.House hits a 3 of his own!
79-77 Boston, first lead since 5-4!!!
Celts up 2 and Perk is -15 in the +/- category. Just one of those nights for K-Perk.
Another 3 by Parker. Him and Kapono can certainly shoot.
O'Neal scores again (23 pts, 10 reb).
Raptors up 84-81 with 3:13 left.
Would be a shame to lose this one after that comeback. Would also be a shame to lose to Toronto while holding Bosh to 9 pts, 7 rbs.
HUGE 3 by Ray Allen to tie it. I love that he never loses confidence.
Turnover Toronto...back to Boston....
Horrible time management and Rondo takes a horrible fade away at the buzzer that misses.
Block by Perk, jumper by Pierce!!!
86-84 Celtics with 1:37 to go.
KG has neutralized Bosh to the point of them not even going to him. Ever.
SICK reverse layup by Pierce!!!!
90-84 with 34.4 seconds to go. OUTSTANDING half by Paul Pierce.
Toronto misses and fouls Ray Allen.
GREAT win for the Celtics. This is the most hard fought game to date and they emerged victorious. Got to love it.
Chris Bosh should NEVER play 33 minutes and only attempt 6 shots. Some of the credit obviously goes to KG, but that is still poor coaching in my mind. Need to let your star do something out there.
Pierce & KG deserve a TON of credit for this one.
GAME OVER
Celtics 94, Raptors 87
Pierce finishes with 36 points after going 3-13 in the first 3 quarters. Easy pick for #1 spark.
3 SPARKS
1-Pierce
2-Garnett
3-R.Allen
First time that the Big 3 have gotten the 3 Sparks in a game.
That game was amazing. Did you see O'Neal's stats after his double tech with Perk? HE DID NOTHING. Perk totally got in his head. We are so mentally tough
Can everyone please go read Peter Mays's "Top of the World" - on shelves now. It is so fun to read - about last year's Celts team. He wrote it so quickly as he needed it released for the beginning of the year - plus he had to deal with getting KG interviewed - which is always impossible. Some amazing quotes and insight.
