The Celtics (13-2) play host to Golden State (5-9) tonight. This will be the Warriors only visit to the Garden this season (the C’s will play them again on their west coast trip December 26). Golden State had a high scoring attack already (103.3 ppg, 3rd in the NBA) and then added former Knicks leading scorer Jamal Crawford this past week. Crawford (18.8 ppg) scored only 9 points in his first game with the Warriors, but there are plenty of other guys on their team that can score. Stephen Jackson (21.5 ppg), Corey Maggette (17.2), Andris Biedrins (16.6), Kelenna Azubuike (15.7) and Anthony Morrow (13.0) have all been quite successful putting the ball in the basket this season for Don Nelson’s squad. Biedrins is also among the league leaders in rebounding with 13.2 per game. Golden State’s problem has been stopping the opposition as they have allowed 106.1 ppg this season, better than only the Knicks. This is in stark contrast to the Celtics who have allowed just 89.9 ppg this year, best in the NBA. Golden States porous defense could mean good news for Paul Pierce, as The Truth has struggled scoring lately despite continuing to play a solid all-around game. Look for him to break out big time tonight with Jackson likely to get the unenviable assignment of trying to stop him. Let’s go Celtics!Wednesday, November 26, 2008
Celts Report: Game 16 vs Warriors

I'm pretty sure in every sport they say that good defense beats good offense...I don't expect to be any different.
It is AMAZING what little defense the Warriors play. There is 3 minutes left in the 1st quarter and the C's already have 32 points.
KG and Ray both in double figures with time to spare in the 1st.
Stephen Jackson does have 12 for GS, but nobody else is doing much of anything for them.
Jackson's headband is blinding.
Tied 43-43. Maggette looks solid for GS and has 12 now too. Looks solid...wish we had figured out a way to sign him.
GS up 60-50. Amazing!
Jackson has 18 and Maggette has 17, with over 2 minutes left in the 1st half! Celts need to get back to basics and start playing some good D or they are going to lose this one by trying to beat the Warriors at their own game.
GS is shooting 21-38 (55%) from the field so far. Can't beat anyone when you allow 55% shooting.
I still believe good D beats good offense, but the C's aren't playing good D right now.
...and a tech on Doc with 47 seconds left in the half. Guess he's just as frustrated as me.
Perk called for a total BS foul when 4 seconds left. He gets ZERO respect from refs. I was hoping winning the title might have changed that a little, but seems like it hasn't at all.
Halftime score:
CELTICS: 54
WARRIORS 67
Celtics played ZERO defense in the 2nd quarter.
Golden State outscored the C's 39-18 in the 2nd Quarter. That is SO unacceptable on SO many levels.
Every single Celtics player that has gotten in as a negative +/-, "led" by Tony Allen's -12 in under 8 minutes.
Scal has a 0 in just over 3 minutes...which sadly tops on the team.
really fun to watch on local tv in SF - Jim Barnett is a former Celtic and LOVES going to Boston. He is a great basketball announcer. He was totally perplexed by Rondo. Great game!
Very impressive win - Tony Allen is so solid this year
C's outscore them 65-44 in the 2nd half and take home a 119-111 win. Very nice!
3 Stars...
1-RONDO
2-KG
3-RAY
