The Celtics (9-2) play host to the surprisingly successful Knicks (6-4) tonight at the Garden, and they do so without Kevin Garnett. KG will be serving a one-game suspension for an altercation with Andrew Bogut in the Milwaukee game the other night. Somebody will have to step up to fill KG’s void in the paint for Boston. Perk? Big Baby? Leon? Perhaps even Scal? The real key for Boston will be controlling the tempo and slowing down the new fast paced Knicks, guided by coach Mike D’Antoni. Jamal Crawford (21.3 ppg) and Zach Randolph (20.8 points, 12.9 rebounds) lead a group of 7 players averaging 9+ points per game for New York. The Knicks are playing well and are a division rival, but are still not in the Celtics class with or without KG…as long as they play the type of defense that would make Kevin Garnett proud tonight. Celts Report: Game 12 vs Knicks

Sorry for the late post....Celtics lead 35-32 with 9 minutes remaining in the 2nd.
Scal got the start in place of KG and played perhaps the 7 least eventful minutes possible. No points, no rebounds, no assists, 0-1 with a foul.
Wilson Chandler is surprisingly good for NY. I really don't know much about him but am impressed.
Leon Powe is unstoppable right now
Ray Allen is playing like a great point guard this game. Setting so many people up for good looks.
Our team is so different without KG.
12 points on 5-5 shooting in 8 minutes for Leon.
Why didn't he get the start?
Leon and Randolph double techs! Good stuff.
Leon Powe is kicking ass!
Why has Pierce been on the bench for so long?
Big Baby is doing a great job at not overreacting to calls this year. Good stuff
we are up 10 with 8 mins left - I dont have a great feeling for some reason.
C's up 101-92 with about 4 minutes to go. I haven't been blogging during the game b/c I've been updating the rest of the site, but very solid balanced attack.
Could be 3 P's for the Sparks tonight (Powe, Perk & Pierce), but it is also Rondo's best game in a while, especially on the glass.
Up 4 with 2 mins left. I'm still nervous too JBS.
Seriously...you said it the other night DK...Pierce gets hacked every play he goes to the hole. A lot of it subtle smacking his hands when he drives
Worst call ever on Perk right there. They never call that
FINAL SCORE:
Celtics 110
Knicks 101
Solid win, especially with KG out.
4 candidates for the 3 Sparks. Can't decide who to leave out or which order to put them in.....
Powe, Perk, Pierce & Rondo
Who is odd man out?
3 Sparks....
1.PIERCE
2.PERKINS
3.POWE
(Sorry Rondo)
How does Jamal Crawford average over 20 a game and only take 4 shots tonight? That is horrible.
