B's Report: Game 16 vs Canadiens

The Bruins (9-3-3) return home from a successful visit to Chicago (1st shootout win of the season) to battle the Canadiens (9-2-2) with 1st place in the Northeast Division at stake. While Boston battled the Blackhawks through overtime last night, Montreal was resting up and awaiting their arrival back in Boston, so needless to say it will be a tough game for the B’s. Fortunately they have been red hot and it’s always easy to get up for a game when first place is at stake and you are playing your biggest rival. Montreal won their first battle of the year 4-3 in a shootout back on October 15. They have a balanced scoring attack led by Alex Tanguay (7-8-15), Saku Koivu (5-8-13) and Alex Kovalev (5-7-12) up front, with Andrei Markov (1-13-14) anchoring the defense. Boston spent the majority of the night in Chicago on special teams, so B’s like Chuck Kobasew or Blake Wheeler who got less than 10 minutes of ice time last night could end up as difference makers tonight. Manny Fernandez will likely give Tim Thomas a breather tonight, and if he plays like he did last Saturday against Buffalo the Bruins should be in good shape in net. Let’s go Bruins!

I'm predicting Kobasew, Wheeler and Ryder will be the B's stars of the night. Amazing to be playing Montreal with 1st place at stake at not even be the biggest game in town tonight!

I love Boston sports!!!

Don't worry, there will always be live in-game of all the Boston games for all our sports....just a little slow getting them up tonight. B's went up first since the game started an hour earlier.

By the way....

Bruins up 3-0 after the 1st!!!!

B's goals by Thornton, Sturm and Yelle.

Sturm should have had 2 last night and played a solid all around game. Nice to see him stepping up!

...and starting the 2nd period on the power play!

Its 3-0? My game alert is wrong it shows 2-0. 3-0 is even better.

B's are 100% dominating this one in every way. Habs only have 10 shots with 6 mins left in the 2nd.

4-1 B's after the 2nd. Koivu scored for Montreal. I hate him.

Montreal had a scary PP at the end of the 2nd to narrow the shot total to 19-17. Great play by Ference most notably who took a slapper off the foot. Hope he's not hurt.

Awesome fight by Lucic following by pumping up the crowd. Hope they show replays on the news.

Lucic scored to make it 5-1 BTW

6-1 on Yelle's 2nd of the game. We are absolutely destroying them in every way now.
