Who Else is Celebrating #17?

--------------------------------
Obviously the Boston Celtics and their fans are in a state of euphoria following the franchise's 17th World Championship. That goes without saying. But what non-Celtic player or fan is also celebrating the big Boston victory over L.A.? Here are at least three...1)Shaquille O'Neal: Shaq hates Kobe. Period. So he's happy Kobe lost. He's also now won a title without Bryant while Kobe has yet to prove he can win one without Shaq....2)LeBron James: LBJ has been playing second fiddle to Kobe (and a very distant second at that) in any "Best Player on Earth" debates (except here). Yet LeBron took a weaker supporting cast and gave Boston a much tougher fight. He also game up MUCH bigger in the final game of the series...3)Michael Jordan: Mentioning Kobe in the same breath as MJ prior to the Finals, which many were doing, seemed ridiculous to me. After the annihilation at the hands of the C's few are likely comparing Kobe to Mike and his 6-0 Finals record...So who else do you think is helping us celebrate #17 with the C's?

I'm guessing Tim Legler of ESPN also falls into this category. Out of 10 "experts" from ESPN (which is more of a joke to me my the day) Legler was the only one who picked Boston to win it.

Jon Barry just said he knew/was on top of it that this Lakers team was never a legit, championship caliber team. pfff......

Chuck Daly, and Pat Riley come to mind (whom I'm sure hate Phil Jackson), as well as the entire Kings, and Clippers organizations.

Memphis was being laughed at for "getting robbed" by the Lakers for the Pau Gasol trade. I bet they were pretty happy to see him disappear for l o n g stretches this series as the Lakers got their asses handed to them.

1) Kwame Brown - for representing that Memphis trade...yet Gasol played like him.

2) George Karl, whose son Coby plays for the Lakers and I bet he would be embarassed that his son has a ring and he doesn't

3) Utah Jazz fans, who oddly despise Derek Fisher

4) Italians (in both world wars, Slovenians and Italians were dire enemies). Oh...and Vujacic is from Slovenia

Garnett, Allen on Letterman tonight!

I'm guessing the Tim Duncan & the Spurs. They are now still the only team with 4 titles since Jordan retired.

I just surfed around the LA Times sports section and was unable to find any quotes from any Lakers players in any story other than Phil Jackson. What is up with that? Bad journalists or were the players just not talking? I dont get it.

Kobe gave 1-word answers to every question in the press conference. So awkward. The reporters were waiting for him to expand on his answers but they were all "yes", "no" or "i don't' know". I didn't see anyone else at the podium.

What were the final +/- for the whole series for both teams?

I suggest to anyone who hasn't, check out NBA.com today. They have a sick Celtics montage to our intro music, that the site takes you to immediately.

====================
Random side note, before the Game 7 blow out (in which he did not play) Sam Cassell had the best +/- on the Celtics at +28, but Vlad Radmonovic was even better at +30.

Also, House had the 4th best +/- despite not playing in two games (1 & 2) that the C's won.

Hahahaha, Odom is still complaining. This time about us "running up the score," specifically Tony Allen's alley oop. Apparently this guy didn't get the memo that you are supposed to play basketball in the Finals, and not just run your mouth. I swear, from the start of game one through the end of game 6. What a sucker.

(sidenote: so glad to see Farmar playing the role of the anchor on that list and holding DOWN the bottom)

Joe Piscapo was too busy shooting up 'roids with Carrot Top.

Barry Manilow was too busy playing a private charity concert for Polobear's Prep School's Yachting Team.

After Shaq's freestyling last night I'd say it's pretty clear he deserved to be #1 on this list.
